Morning eyelids
Get up, get done and on.
Daylight windows
And golden stripes of sun,
Setting out for the town
Work to bring it around.Humans waking
for human need and greed,
Tell you time
As your hours speed and fleet,
We'll earn lively our way
Hills of onwards, I say.Take me into the kettle
Then I'll melt
And pour out into the cups
I held at them.
Now I wish to be part
To join The City at HeartAll the world takes me in today.
Now to take it I'd gladly say
What could equally make me gay? - aihh?Dusty windows and
Dirty streets lit up.
Rusty irons like
Litter-jugs, worn up,
Traffic-jams; horns and scenes,
Café-smells, chips and beans. Is it me I will see?
Is it here we will be?
I can't tell you, I can't tell you, no.But now I love you more than I say,
Now I'd take your love anyway.
Now I feel my heart is is strong,
Now I want to make it with you.
Now I need to take it along,
Now I know that you want me too,
Yes, now there's nothing that I won't do - for you.Morning eyelids
Get up, get done and on.
Daylight windows
And golden stripes of sun;
Now I wish to be part
To join The City at Heart.
