It's a hard road
I have to travel
All alone.

 When I was just newly born
They gave me my name,
And the first thing I learned
Was you are you alone.

At the school were I came
They asked me my name,
`Are you just as clever as us?'
`You are what you learn!'

And I learned what I pleased
And now I know a lot,
My brain it works very well,
It's so hard to stop again.

 And I want to stop it
For behind there might be silence to find,
And if I could shut up
I might see something real.

And now I sit right here
